Ava (Viognier/Marsanne/Roussanne)
92 Points - John Schreiner:
"In a tradition of this winery of naming wines for employees’ children, this white blend is named for winemaker Severine Pinte’s daughter. The wine is a blend of [mostly] Viognier with Roussanne and Marsanne. This is a big basket of fruit flavours – apricot, melon and citrus. The balance is such that wine manages to be both fleshy in texture and refreshing and dry on the very long finish."
Vaïla Rosé
90 Points Vaïla Rosé - John Schreiner
"Pinot Noir for this wine was harvested on November 4 (2010 was also a late vintage) and juice for this rosé was drawn off after 24 hours on the skins. The wine, with a 340-case production, begins with an attractive salmon pink hue. It has aromas and flavours of strawberry, rhubarb and pink grapefruit and has a refreshing tang on the dry finish."
Vancouver Province ("wine guy" James Nevison) - May 4th/2011
"It’s not just white wines that feature floral notes, bottles of pink and red get flowery too! For example, the just released Vaïla Rosé from celebrated Okanagan winery Le Vieux Pin bursts out of the glass with aromas of flowers and ripe strawberry. It’s a tantalizing bottle made from heavy-cropped Pinot Noir fruit that is produced using the Saignée method of “bleeding” unpressed, free-run juice, and the resulting wine is fresh and fruity but displays remarkable body and elegance. Only 340 cases were produced, so act fast if you want to secure your supply for patio season. Bottom line: A “Elegant rosé.”
Sauvignon Blanc
91 points 2010 - Icon Wines
"...Combinations of stainless steel and oak aging with an NFL-like playbook of variations was used to create an overtly complex and tasty dry wine that offers rich tropical fruit, herbal, mineral, lees and light oak characters on the nose and palate..."
92 Points 2010 - John Schreiner
"...This dramatic white has aromas of lime, grapefruit and guava that explode from the glass. It delivers those flavours powerfully, finishing with notes of herbs, spices and even white pepper. This is one of the most expressive Sauvignon Blancs to come from the Okanagan. "
92 Points 2010 - David Lawrason (Wine Align)
"This is a very fine, complex sauvignon from vines grown on a north facing slope in Osoyoos (to create less ripe, higher acid grapes in this hot region). Just under 20% was barrel fermented adding a touch o sice to the complex, very fine nose. Look for fresh herbs, green quince/gooseberry fruit, fresh mint and even a vague tangerine scent. The palate is quite full and ripe but the flavours are cool and green, with some celery and tomato leaf on the finish. Excellent to outstanding length."

"A tiny quantity was made for the winery, but if you spy a bottle give it a try. It's 100% organically grown pinot noir from the Kalala Vineyard in north Westbank. Especially if you're a pinot fan because it has very interesting expression, with very lifted rhubarb/sour cherry fruit. The palate isjuicy and elegant at the same time, and very intense. Quite incredible length here."
