Le Grand Pin (Home Block) sits perched on the Black Sage Bench.

The landmark of the site is the old pine tree that sits at the North West corner of the vineyard. The views from the site are down into the town of Oliver from the high perch on the east side of the valley.

Soil

Vineyards are planted on deep, stone free , sandy, glacio fluvial parent material that dominates the bench lands to the east and north of Osoyoos lake.

Sub Texture

Black Sage Bench has a nicely balanced percentage of Sand and Loam that helps water retention. There is some slight variation at this site with more rock and loam in the front of the site than in the back. Soils across the site are coarse.
