The wine journalist @davidlawrason just shares his opinion of our latest release of Ava:
«Ava is inspired by the whites of the south of France made from roussanne, marsanne and viognier. In this vintage roussanne takes the majority position at 51%, followed by viognier at 36% and marsanne the balance. It was fermented and aged in French oak, new tulip-shaped concrete vats and stainless steel. It is a very fine nuanced and balanced wine, quite rich yet elegant. The nose is gentle with yellow plum, starfruit and florals plus vanilla, light spice and toasty nuances from frequent lees stirring. I am most impressed by the delicate balance and smooth texture, with 13.6% alcohol in check and very good acidity. The length is excellent with lemon joining the mix. Fine to enjoy now although I suspect more complexity in a couple of years.

From Vineyard in Osoyoos to vineyard North of Oliver, 25 min drive in between, almost pea-sized berries in Osoyoos while flowering is just finishing in Oliver.

Vineyard evolution post! This spring, we have experienced a bit more precipitation and cooler temperatures. We are a few days behind than last year, but our vines are growing healthy. 🙏🏻
At 50% flowering, we start counting down the days to harvest, +/- 100 days to go🤩. See the different stages of flowering, from our southernmost block of Cab Franc; it's roughly 75% flowered. The Okanagan Valley is a little known Western Canadian region in the grand scheme of the wine world - but hot damn do they produce bomb juice from Rhone varietals. This is the top quality producer @levieuxpin located on the Black Sage Bench just north of Osoyoos and the US/Canada boarder. This 2012 blend of 61% Viognier, 21% Roussanne and 18% Marsanne maintains beautiful floral, bruised apple, citrus rind, almond and white pepper notes with a strong resilient backbone of acid and a luxurious body. Canada needs to be recognized more in the wine community ❤️🍷🇨🇦
